A one day
seminar-cum-workshop was jointly organized by the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce &
Industry (VCCI), Vadodara and DNS e-Business Consultancy, Pune at the VCCI
Auditorium, GIDC Makarpura, Vadodara.
Mr. Jatin Bhatt,
President VCCI and President & Director of Auto Industries Pvt. Ltd, Vadodara,
inaugurating the seminar, gave an overview of ERP in the manufacturing sector.
He told the participants that ERP, if implemented thoroughly will support
production process. He stressed that his experience was that ERP reduces
complexities in business process. He drove home the point that DNS has developed
good software specially for the Small & Medium Scale sector and GIDC along had
1200 units in this segment which can benefit out of this software. He exalted
upon the participants that it was not a question of whether but a question of
“How Soon” the companies gone in for this kind of a package. He mentioned that
an affordable and a user friendly ERP software would go a long way in the units
in the GIDC area becoming more competitive. He urged upon the participants to
take full advantage of the Seminar.
Mr. Jyotindra
Zaveri, CEO, DNS e-Business detailed the DNS ERP Software and how the same would
seamlessly integrate all business functions in an enterprise on real time basis.
He explained the various concepts of ERP including the different modules. The
advance features of online costing, VAT & excise integration, inventory, and
order fulfillment modules were demonstrated and explained using various case
studies. Inventory management, one of the key benefits of the ERP software would
enable a company to substantially save on inventory costs which itself will
payback for the investment in an ERP Software.
Mr. Zaveri also
emphasized the need for Business Process Redesign (BPR) for the ERP
implementation to be more effective. BPR enables seamless transition from a
legacy system to ERP. The benefits of BPR viz. analyzing various financial and
operational parameters and the tools to fine tune the same. He said the

Mr. S. Mohan,
CFO, DNS e-Business touched upon how the ERP enables an organization to link
various functions to accounting, which is the key to success in any
organization. He very lucidly brought out the reason why ERP in an organization
succeeds or fails. He brought out the effect and benefits of online costing &
compares pre-production costing & post production costing. He also emphasized on
the need for the top management in an organization to be closely involved in the
implementation of ERP and gave the top 10 reasons “Why ERP succeeds” and “Why
ERP fails” citing various examples to drive home his point.
The seminar was attended by participants from different Industry
segments from Vadodara, which included top Executives, Directors, and
specialists from the Information Technology field etc. Mr. Kashyap
Antani, Executive Secretary, VCCI gave the vote of thanks to the participants
and appreciated their very interactive participation.
