BACKGROUND:
· This enterprise is using DNS ERP in their factory, in Paithan (Aurangabad), and in the head office in Mumbai. This is a ‘Joint Venture’ company (India and Germany).
· Manufactures spring-loaded Safety Valves with flanged and threaded connections. These valves are produced in India since 1990 in Joint Venture with a German company which is leader in designs and supplies of entire range of Safety and Relief Valve systems.
· ‘Finished Goods’ are sold in India as well as exported around the world.
DNS ERP is preferred ‘Enterprise software’ for small and mid-size companies, because DNS offers proven and affordable ERP solutions.

ISSUES & CHALLENGES:
· Broadband internet connection or dedicated leased lines are still not a viable solution in the place where the plant is located. Therefore synchronizing two ERP servers is a challenge. The Purchase is handled from Mumbai. Purchase Order made in Mumbai but the stores where the material is received is in Paithan. It is necessary to give cost effective solution to send and receive data.
· Item Codification of the ‘Valves’ (FG) needs to be automated considering various permutations and combinations of technical specifications.
· Some items (casting) is sent out for machining (process) to subcontractors. The payment is given against ‘labor service charges’ bill after deducting TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) as per Government compliance and excise duty credit is also availed.
