Tuberculosis is a preventable disease and the most
important measure to prevent its transmission is to provide adequate
ventilation, in the community.
Even the hospitals and clinics try to take precautions such as using
ultraviolet light to sterilize the air, special filters to keep away the
bacteria and special respirators and masks to prevent
the other people from being infected. In hospitals, especially, people
infected with TB are kept in special isolated rooms with controlled
airflow and ventilation so that they do not spread
the bacteria
