TitAbout Us

This site and database is brought together by a group of students studying Masters in Bioinformatics, from Suryadatta Group of Institutes in Pune affiliated to Sikkim - Manipal University

This is also a part of a project to present as a poster in an International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCob 2006) held in Delhi from December 18 - 20, 2006.

Realizing the graveness of Tuberculosis in India, we decided to gather all the information available about Tuberculosis and make it available at one place. Besides creating awareness about the prevention, causes, symptoms and diagnosis of the disease, we created a database on the various treatment available for the disease. The database includes the drugs currently used as well as the traditional herbal medicine which proves to be a better alternative to cure the disease. Being easily query-able and providing the latest information about each drug, it proves to be a platform for patients, doctors as well as researchers to gain knowledge about the drugs and herbs.

The students involved in creating the website and database are:

1. Darshan Waghchaware

2. Deepak Toppinkatti

3. Chaitanya Gokhale

4. Tejasvi Mahendraker

5. Shweta Jog

6. Sameera Kari

7. Suvarna Joshi

8. Amrapali Zaveri

We have written down our experience at InCoB, which may be viewed here. We presented the project as a poster, which may be viewed here.
